Hi Phil,

I've had a bit of a rethink and some remembering & would agree with John Parker that the highest vacuum readings would be the way to go with DCOE's. I also say that you can gain economy by extra leaning out & subsequent reduction in vacuum when using SU's or injection. The reason for the difference would be that SU's & injection have superior fuel atomization over a very wide range of rpms. OTOH, it is very easy to get into excessive lean backfires with DCOE's especially with the typical softmounts being leaky. (Volvo's own softmounts are awesome.)
