Stoiching the fire... 140-160 1974

I have a B20A vacuum advance dizzie in my K-Jet car & playing with the timing is not worth the effort. Set the total timing for best power & leave it there. I have my car leaned out at idle as much as possible and the full throttle mixture is still good, I even removed the PCV nipple. I can lean my car out an incredible amount & it doesn't make it misfire, it only makes it idle like it has a big cam in it.(romp romp romp) If you have a misfire at idle I would say you might have a problem with your ignition, check the points gap at each of the four positions as I have seen excess wear on one lobe. Checking the difference in timing with a timing light between 1 & 4 is a good way to start.

Cheers,
Paul.
