I know that #4 is dead (at idle, anyway) Would I learn anything else by the 1 minute run - then touch method?
I went to a local shop today, and the mechanic done a compression check on #2 & #4. He did #4 first, with the motor running. It got just a bit past 50 - with him releasing the pressure and then allowing it to come back up, and his comment was that it was low. Then he did #2 the same way, and it was a bit higher - but not that much. I think this befuddled him a bit.
Next he disconnected the coil, and cranked the motor for about thirty seconds without releasing the pressure on both 2 & 4. There might have been a 10% difference - both reading about 100 with this method.
Anyway, tomorrow AM - I am going back up there - and we are going to swap the 2 & 4 injectors - to see if it repeats the problem on #2. If it does then we will know it is the injector.
Thanks - Don
