New engine 700

The attached picture is of the right hand side of the engine in the 1988 760T my wife is driving. I bought the car for $225 with the engine as shown. Volovoincreased the connecting rods from 9mm to 13mm as a running change early in the 1989 model year. Connecting rod failure is not uncommon in the early B230FT engines with the 9mm connecting rods. The B230FTs with 13mm connecting rods are very tough. Look for a 1990 or later engine. A 1989 engine could be fine, but you'd have to remove the pan to check connecting rod size.
