5W-30 is still just 5W oil -- it just has lubricating properties equivalent to 30W, but won't look like it to a hydraulic pump. I'm sure the manual recommends straight 30W, not a multi-grade oil. If you don't feel comfortable with 80W-90, try regular 30W.

Try adjusting the cable so there's just a little bit of free play in the clutch fork.
