Looks like I'm wrong 120-130

Here in Switzerland, i think the 122S kept the 123GT name for the B20'ed production years, produced in Sweden as you suggest. Dunno if they could be named 122S as well though. I guess the name sold better. This leads me to think there have been 123 GT in 1970, but haven't seen any around so far...
Difficult to check nowadays, as the Volvo importation business has been taken over by a big company that frowns when hearing the "122" or even worse "Amazon": "what are these? special finish for the XC90?" ... But I agree when you say the "real" 123 (i.e. B18) only lived for one year.
