M41 Project update 1800

I really appreciate the replies from all. Efforts to share experiences always benefit everone.
John, When I was putting up the drained tranny oil last night I noticed brass glitters in the bottom of my oil pan. I suspect the syncros have a little wear.
About the loose bearings, are they a sign of pending failure? As a long term learning project, I am thinking of doing a tranny rebuild. Wouldn't rebuilding a worn working box be easier and cheaper before it breaks?

Thanks,
Joel
