I've searched for the 140 center console and I've found out that you can buy them here: www.swedishclassics.com

Not a 100% match, but close. console2X.jpg
Perhaps the owner of the Italian PV544 made it from one of those?
It shouldn't be a problem to shrink the storage compartment.
Next step would be to move the hole for the gearshift boot towards the center.
That shouldn't be too hard either. ;)
The hardest part would be to fit a nice pair of cup holders behind it.
