How to pull distributor gear? 140-160 1974

I've had to dress the edges a bit on mine also. I'm reluctant to crank
the engine with the gear not all the way seated because then it is harder
to determine if you got it in the right position. I have a long piece of
tubing flattened on the end that will reach down and turn the pump.

Does IPD's pump have bigger gears or just a stronger spring? On a good
four cylinder engine the pressure you can get with a normal, good oil pump
seems to be limited by the ability of the transfer line seals to contain it.
6 cylinder engines seem to be a little more realistic in pump volume output.
