i replaced the entire cluster a while back because of what is one of the 2 most important idiot lights not working.low coolant.now i'm having an intermittent problem with the replacement,so,i've pulled the original back off the shelf to investagate.pulling the flex bd off is time consuming and fragile.i found the break in the trace between warning lights 8 and 9.it is not visible without a magnifying glass and took using the meter to isolate it.
my question is,the correct method of repair.i have a rear defrost repair kit that is hiding somewhere in garage right now,so i'm taking a break from my search.method #2,just hitting it with a soldering iron.my concern there is burning thru the flex bd.
anyone done a repair to the bd and what method did you use?
