I have found HS and HIF to work well for normal year round driving in New England area.

My biggest complaint with the HS is the sticking choke mechanism. No matter how much I clean, lube and align, they always seem to start sticking again within a month.

That has never been a problem with the HIF as it has a completely different actuating mechanism.
