AC microswitch 200

Ain't it great getting paid to peruse the 'board

Shhhh...my boss might hear you.

Paper clip is one of the items I took with me to the parking lot. But I ended up using a small screwdriver to cross the terminals.
At this point I must stop and say I have been completely stupid in looking into this. I said the compressor was not coming on. But it has been. When jumpering the wires didn't cause any noticable change I decide to clean one of the connections because it was kind of cruddy looking. When I pulled the wire the compressor went off. I could only tell by the sound it makes, not so much by the engine speed. I'm remembering the AC in my '79 and '84. When you turned it on or off you really noticed the difference.
By that time the engine had been running for a minute and I took a look through the sight glass. Oily streaks was what I saw. I seem to recall that's a good sign. Or am I wrong about that too?
Anyway, I'm starting to think it's just a bit low on refrigerant. But I don't know if it's still using R-12 or if it's been converted. Any way to figure that out?
