When I put on my header (on my PV) I chopped off the old pipe just short of the new header, then taped them together with aluminum duct tape for the 8 mile drive to the muffler shop. It lasted about a block, block and a half before it blew off and I just went the rest of the way stock car style.
Just keep the windows wide open to keep fresh air coming in.
