As stated below...

From personal experience, try to avoid snap-closed throttle or the bang you get will be truely window breaking! I seem to recall gentle acceleration and lots of slipping into neutral early so I could close the throttle sloooowly and apply brake in time to stop.

p.s. try an air-cooled VW without even headers for a loud drive!
