cooling system problems 200 1981

"Jiggly" pin on thermostat is at top left corner ? When you refilled coolant, heater was on heat and wide open ? Not a good idea to run thermostat-less engine for extended period of time. My 89 has an erratic heat gauge, and has a tendency to get a bit hot in extreme muggy weather, especially on long steep hills/ standing traffic. Time for a rad flush .

Let us know the cure.

Enjoy.
