Two hammers trick S90-V90

I've used the two hammers trick many times but never heard the "brass hammer" version. I always thought it was so you could be more accurate with exactly where the force goes -- when I'm swinging a hammer hard I'm not always as accurate as I'd like...but I can usually hit the other hammer!
