D-Jetronic problems 140-160

Ok, update time.
Compression ok in all 4 cylinders.
Cam is ok, no round lobes.
Fuel pressure ok (28psi), even when its running poorly.
ECU is Ok.
FI cylinder head temp sensor ok, so is its connection.

Got the car to run good for about 10 minutes this afternoon. Revved up fine, seemed to be back to normal. Let it warm up, then shut it off. About 5 minutes later I started it up again to find it sputtering and hesitating, acting like it had a miss. Pulled plug wires off to see if it was located in any one cylinder, but no such luck. It appeared to be located in 3 now, but upon carful listening, I could tell that the engine ran *slightly* better with the plug wire on. Same for cylinder 1,2, and 4, but a little more obvious. Yes, the car had a tune up 2 or 3 months ago.

So it seems to be temperature related... The only other sensor is the air temp one. Could it be the thermal time switch located towards the back of the block? I'm so used to working on my '71, I forgot this car even had one until I just looked a few minutes ago. How very perplexing. :(
