If it is actually a true miss, then I would pull plug wires to try and isolate the problem. Happen to me once, went into a store, came out now it had a miss. Distro cap and rotor. I wouldn't think a miss would cause rpms to flucuate. I would lean towards dirty ICV/throttle body. Full clean up, then readjust the idle.
