Need suggestions for conversion transplant.

Well.. never mind. 67cobra.NET was, or seemed, dead (of course it worked just now when I tried it), so I typed in 67cobra.com thinking that maybe you had mistyped, and THAT guy lives in CA. Sorry about that.

Answers I have:

On my '93 945 there was a fuel return line and your stock pump should work fine for a stock 5.0. It's 140LPH if memory serves.

AC works with Ford compressor and Volvo condensor and such. PS works with Ford pump and Volvo rack. You'll need to kludge (ala Converse) or make up some hoses.

I don't remember how I connected the ignition switch and such to the Ford harness, but it wasn't hard. A little work with the wiring diagram and you'll be good.

Tach works after having it adapted at a speedo shop for $35. Simon Dodd knows what resitor to solder where if you want to DIY. Temp gauge works (I've forgotten whether I used the Ford sender or not...) but isn't linear. Mid range is OK but it doesn't move unless the engine gets really hot. I have an aftermarket gauge in as well to compare. Speedo runs off the diff tone ring.

Stock Ford alternator will work but is a POS. I put a 130 alternator in mine after three rebuilt ones died. Don't know if that's transplant related - I don't have a huge stereo.

Driveshaft will have to be shortened.

HTH,

Peter
