Climate Control (lack of) V70-XC70 1998

Anybody seem this?

My climate control starts up when I start the car and gets the temp. to a nice cosy temperature - fine. But after a while it seems to give up the ghost and stop warming the car. The blowers come on when I come to a full stop but turn off again when I am cruising. If I'm doing a long journey cruising at a constant speed the car can get quite cold - I can heat it by turning the heat control to full, but otherwise it does not seem to work.

I'm not sure if the same problem would apply with cooling the care with the A/C as it's cold here at the moment.

Any similar experiences/fixes would be appreciated.
