Well Klaus, my only reservation would be the evaporator. I've recently been dealing with the AC on my son's 1998 V70 T5. After UV dye checks revealed no problems in the engine compartment, I've reluctantly zeroed in on the evaporator as the only possibility. You obviously know that the cost to have it replaced in a shop is $1500-1800. So I put in a can of Interdynamics Super Seal last week - time will tell. If it doesn't work, I've decided to bite the bullet and change it myself, which is what I suspect you will do.
But this is one of the most unappealing jobs I can think of, and it ticks me off that the engineers (not just Volvo ones) would design it this way. I've semi-seriously thought of cutting a section of the firewall out to get at it that way !
Good Luck !
