Just though I would mention that I had a 98 V70XC and I changed the air pump( with a BMW model by changing the cover), I changed the SAS valve, and still got the code again a few weeks later. I did find that on my car I could reset the code with my cen-tech ODB2 scanner, and I could pass inspection in NY where they plug a computer reader linked directly to the DMV into each car. Apparently there is no "drive cycle" time on the 98's, or at least on the one I had. I was able to look past the check engine light, and drove it that way for 4 more years.
