Understeer Vs Oversteer S70

While I have to agree with the 'experts' on the lack of training that Americans have with driving in non-optimal conditions and the need to mount the good tires on the rear, I learned to drive in a rear engined VW. Oversteer was common and completely controlable, when learned. I would, even now, prefer to feel the rear end go loose than the front end try to plow off the road.

I would also never mix snow tires with all season or summer tires on any car, that is just asking for trouble. I prefer all 4 tires be the same make and tread design when ever possible.

Budget constraints are common today and I can understand why people will only buy 2 new tires. Just remember to go a little slower when the conditions are slippery.

BTW, if you have a Volvo with AWD, put the new tires on the front!
