I did not read all th other responses, so if I duplicate, I apologize. I have 4 studded General Altimax snows on my '98 awd v70, and it is unstoppable. The tires are better and seem to be lasting longer than the last set of snows I had (I cannot remember what they were, though--maybe Gislaveds?). They are great. Last winter, passed, on a steep, icy road here in Vermont, several other cars that were unable to make the grade, literally. They were sliding, skidding, and stuck. We wove through them and went and enjoyed our day of skiing.
