'07 V70 with front end noise V70-XC70

My wife's '07 V70 (automatic transmission, 190K miles) wagon has a low- frequency noise coming somewhere from the front end / under the hood, audible primarily at low speeds on bumpy/gravel roads. By chance, I noticed that (what appears to be) the motor mount bar (the steel bar over the engine) to be quite "loose" in its rubber bushings. Could this be the source of the noise? 'Any other thoughts?
