Generator warning light on dash is intermittent. 850 1996

My problem was even simpler. Battery voltage didn't change when starting. Must be the alternator right? wrong!

I ordered a new alternator from FCP Groton, while waiting for it to arrive, I noticed that the cable from the battery to the starter was corroded. So, I replaced it, only to find out that the cable connection at the alternator was very loose. How did that happen? Well tighten up that connection and no more voltage problem. I should have checked the connection tightness first.
