120 PSI on Low-Side of AC -- What to do? 850 1995

Dave

Nobody seems to have picked up on this:

The Low Pressure switch is not on the compressor. It is at the back of the engine compartment near the firewall just before the tube enters the cabin. On the compressor are the High Pressure switch, and a high temperature cutout switch.

It isn't clear from your posts if you are certain the compressor is actually running, If not then the pressure in your system will equalise and that explains your HP reading.

It's easy to see the clutch operating. Remove the connector from the LP switch and jumper it with a wire, this should start up the compressor (don't run it for long without a refrigerant charge). You will see the clutch at the compressor drive pulley close - the engine rpm should drop momentarily, then pick up again as the ECU compensates.

Good luck

KP
