are you happy with your 850? 850

Depends on what you're looking for, really. I don't know specific differences as the years progressed. If I were looking for a 940 I would probably try to look at several examples spanning the years of production. (91-95?) That would give the best feel for the character of the car. I don't think there's any substitute for sitting in the driver's seat.

As the 740 developed into the 940 between 85 and 95, my understanding is that the car only improved. You're obviously going to find more finicky electrical gizmos on later cars because that just comes with the territory. But I also understand that the engines became more robust with time as well. (This matters the most if you are looking at a turbo, since that's probably the only way you'd be putting enough power to break ANY cared for B230.) Rust proofing of the body was improved greatly after I think '87.

Best of luck in finding your new brick.

Tim
