1993 240 idle issues.. a mystery! 200

If the secondary coil is open (internal broken wire), it may very well still fire the plugs at low energy levels. Eventually it will get worse as the wire ends burn off and the gap inside the coil widens. An open secondary coil would also be more noticeable at idle since there is lower primary voltage at idle.

Try a new coil, there is a high probability that it will solve the issue.
