Fuel Pump 1800 1970

My D-Jet Bosch fuel pump is making a noise. Sounds like a suspension noise, which is what threw me off untill I actually put my hands on the pump and felt the vibes when the noise occurred. It's getting worse. Pump was replaced by previous owner and has fewer than 15K miles, but the car sat for ten years. I want to replace it, even if it could go on forever like this, because the noise is driving me batty.

What's the proabable cause of the noise? Would it do any good to take it apart and put it back together. Do these things, seemingly like all other Volvo components, take a long time to die? What's the best place to go for a quality replacement (and, is there a non-Bosch replacement that might be readily available?) Thanks for any insight you can lend.
