Fuel Pump 1800 1970

Hi Dave,
Based on my experience, the fuel is ruined after sitting for long periods, and that affects the operation of the pump which can't digest the crud. There are replacement pumps available, ( I think mine was about $120 last summer). The bigger issue is condsidering the cleaning of the tank and replacing mesh filter on the end of the pick up tube in the tank (if it's an E). You might consider installing a filter between the tank and pump when you get it back together, if you don't have to clean the tank. A good old time radiator shop will clean a tank, but be careful to alert them not to allow sealant to block the pick up tube in the tank. Good luck
