Almost there 1800 1970

I appreciate all the help from Rolfe, Steve, and JohnMC in getting my 1970 1800E running again (see smoking, running rough, not fun to drive any more). I checked everything you suggested at the computer and according to the wiring diagram. All checked ok except the injection trigger contacts, got no readings there. I replaced the contacts, put in new points and condenser (almost that time anyway), set the timing and it's running great - except -

I am getting a backfire each time I release the accelerator, not extremely loud, and no smoke like the last time, but a backfire through the exhaust. Power seems to be ok, moves just as well as it ever did. Exhaust seems clean at idle.

I welcome any ideas you might have or a general idea of where to start looking.

Thanks!

Dan B.
