You said you replaced the trigger contacts in the distributor? While the car is idling if you pull the injector connection for #2 or #3 cylinder does it effect the idle?
One other important sanity check - make sure your plug wires are in the correct order. Figure out where wire #1 attaches to the cap. Going counterclockwise around the cap the order should be 1-3-4-2. These motors run deceptively smooth on 2 cylinders. I've been burned by this before. :)
