Front cam bearing a common problem? 140-160 1974

That engine had just started the "thrust plate knock", I think, when I removed it. I'm wondering if that is a contributing factor to that bearing failure, because there was a melted front cam bearing in my other engine engine.

It had very low oil pressure, but that bad bearing was the only thing out of spec when I rebuilt it.

Is this common?

I think I may start a new thread on it.
