Sounds like (and looks like) ya got a pretty nice little "wowomobile". I have the same good fortune! I think I would keep up the good maintenance and drive it!!! That's what I'm doing! In the meantime what I am doing is rebuilding a B20 (slightly warmed over) and another M41 for eventual installation. Slow but thorough!!

With that done, I can then freshen up the thet original b18 and tranny for a sort of ready spare in the event of problems.

Heck, along the way you may come across another nice little 122 or 544 or even a 140. That way, all these partswill also fit and then you can swap out cars periodically to limit the total mileage accumulated on any one of them.

Some items I have purchased and keep new in the box are; A set of rear wheel cylinders and shoes, front disk pads, master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinders, assorted gaskets, a waterpump, alternator, a and a fuel pump.

I have a few other items I have scored used that I've reconditioned are; A heater motor, wiper motor and assorted switches and light lenses and reflectors.

I take every windshields and rear window I find in wrecking yards if in good condition. Most I ever paid was 20 bucks. Same with brake drums and disks (get a serious drum puller, I bought a Proto.

I spend maybe one saturday morning a month browsing the local yards and usually find a few items, although I do stay in contact with my usual sources who call me if they get a 122 in. Regular customers definitely get good attention. I never quibble on prices and usually don't have to. We both know the value of certain parts so we are past that bargaining stuff.

6000 dollars will go a long way toward keeping your 122 (or two... A nice wagon is cool!!!) in fine shape for a long time IMHO.

Like I said, I don't plan to drive anything else! Drive vintage Volvos forever!!!!
