Definitely some things to consider, as well. I had asked in a previous post a while back about the smoking, and the consensus was basically get to it when you get to it (like when taking apart the engine) if the oil consumption isn't terrible and/or the smoke isn't too annoying. The valve job is something I have on the to-do list, though, for if nothing else but to get hardened seats put in. It's a little further down as far as priority things go. The cam change is something that would be good to do at around that time while the head's off, as well, and I think I'll add that to the list.

The carb was converted to a single weber by the previous owner, but I miss the SUs that were in my '67 that I sold a few months back. They were tired, though, otherwise I would've swapped them over. I had been eying the Mikuni setup and have billed that as somewhat of a lower priority later on. The performance boost that it provides would not necessarily require upgrading the transmission or rear, now, would it? Exhaust is also down there on the list, probably at about the same time.

Now shocks/springs/swaybars are up higher on the list. When I met with jmenacker he took me for a short run in his 122 with its sway bar and bilsteins and I must say I was immediately sold on it. That's something that'll be done in about 3 months or so.

Still using the stock rims mostly because I like them...I still want to preserve the original appearance, though the superlites looks very nice on 'em, too. That's probably one of the last things I'll end up doing.

Basically, with all my planning and work on this, I don't want to duplicate my work and spending and end up swapping in a performance version of something that I more recently replaced as stock...I'm trying to do it the way I want it to end up, all from the very beginning.
