On top of all that's been said, which I do agree with, although I'm suprised no one's really mentioned improving the car at all, other than just making it more like new(stock)...
You say the car burns a little oil on start-up and on de-cel? Well, after you have all those other things done, you could put some money toward more engine if you'd like... If you don't really want to do anything drastic, maybe you could just pull the head off of your b18 and get a nice valve job done along with new seals and seats, maybe a little porting, or maybe not... Maybe shave the head a little bit for some slightly higher compression? Maybe toss a D cam in there, or something of a newer design? This engine is running SU's I take it? Maybe you could consider upgrading to John Parker's new Mikuni setup for a little bit more power and a modern design that's in brand new condition vs. old and vintage? How about an exhaust? I highly recommend the Skandix 2" mandrel bent, straight through muffler exhaust that we've discussed on here a few times...
Eh?
And what've you done suspension wise for shocks/springs/swaybars? What are you using for wheels/tires?
