I'll definitely take the sound advice. Actually, all the advice I've gotten so far has further convinced me to fix up what I have and enjoy it.
I've made a to-do list (prioritized with safety through appearance, accordingly, of course) along with a rough timeline that I want to get things completed, and it looks like with a conservative estimate it'll be in time for early to mid spring. After doing some preliminary pricing for the parts, it looks like I'll still be within budget and leave a fair margin of error, too.
With all that said, I'm feeling more psyched about taking this on...and I know I'll have many questions to pepper the board with along the way. :)
