Windshield seal install 120-130

I don't think you want any soap in there.
I haven't ever seen a windshield seal that I could call "frightfully tight".
Was it short on length? Or was the groove for the glass very narrow? or both?
Some of the bedding compounds will sort of act as a lubricant so that may
help.
Another thing might be to soak it in hot (not more than 140°F) water, then
dry it WELL and put it together. That will both expand and soften it a bit.

It is good for the seal to be stretched some when you put it on. You don't
want any extra material in there and you do want it tight on the glass.
