General advice wanted: Working outside in very cold temps.

Must be a Connecticut thing.

I currently use a 500w halogen light in the unheated garage.
I have used the small ceramic heaters but found that they just could not keep up with sub zero temperatures in the garage. Also the heat would just rise up and go out through vents in the loft.

The 500w light is great though. In addition to tons of light, it also seems to act like a radiant heater, keeping things warm just where it is pointed.

Haven't used it inside the cars yet. That could be dangerous with the plastic parts. The light itself gets very hot and I'd be afraid of melting something.
