Tips: get some blue neoprene gloves to cover your hands while working. They do serve to keep some cold off while giving you good dexterity. When you don't need the dexterity, use heavier mechanics' gloves with warming inserts (get them at a camping store). The warming inserts work well in shoes too. Wear a watch cap. Tools get very cold and tough to hold, so wrapping them with a small rag can help insulate your hands. My biggest frustration is dropping small fasteners, etc. with stiff fingers.
