General advice wanted: Working outside in very cold temps.

I sympathize...This thought has probably already entered your mind, but, do you have a friend or relative anywhere nearby that does have a garage? We have a good friend with one, and my Mom has one as well. Although it doesn't help me with the must-fix, car-is-stuck-on-my-street repairs, it has been a blessing for routine maintenance during those Pittsburgh winters.

I "pay" for my garage access with general automotive and home repairs. If you're not in this situation, perhaps you could befriend some fellow gearheads and/or homeowners. Bribe 'em if you have to!

As far as working outside, I can't offer any advice that hasn't already been given. Dress in layers, take frequent breaks, set up a patio fireplace if you have a place where it is feasible to do so.

Good luck to you...

Greg
