PCV system Scam or no scam? 700 1991

Did you remove the brass nipple that the small hose from the flame trap connects to the engine? It can become gunked up.I took mine off and cleaned it out. If you clean out the flame trap and miss this, you aint doing much good. I'm sorry for my lack of proper terminology. I'm a noob.
