It is a crinkly brass strip wound into a spiral. It is a fairly tight fit
but persistence will get it out. Unwinding it makes it a lot easier to clean
but then you have to wind it back up pretty tightly to get it in.
You might be able to replace it by stuffing a chore girl into the breather
box. (might have to only use half a chore girl- but the tighter it is stuffed
the better it will work)
