Hot idle problem - 74 164E 140-160

Sounds like your aux air valve is working too well. It is supposed to make
it idle faster till the engine is warmed up. You may have to adjust your
idle speed faster when cold. Once you get it adjusted to where it idles
well when hot you could put some kind of restrictor in the hose to or from
the auxiliary air valve to reduce the fast idle when cold.
