Hello all!
1993 240DL Wagon, 180k miles
After spending countless amounts of money on "professional" Volvo mechanics, I have decided to try to fix things myself.
The past three years has seen "Old Blue" with an intermittent stalling problem, along with an occasional "warm" no-starting problem. These two problems never manifest themselves while at the mechanic, so meanwhile this sensor and that sensor have been replaced without actualy fixing any problems.
I want my 16 year-old son to enjoy this car for a few years, but she has become unreliable to the point where I don't want him to drive the car without me with him.
After pouring through this forum, I feel more confused than anything.
But one thing I have learned is to proceed methodicaly when diagnosing and performing repairs.
I have a hard time locating things around the engine when reading the posts ie;
fuel pump relay, RPM sensor, MAF, crank position sensor, ECU, etc. etc.
Any return dialoge is appreciated, and details about the stalling/starting problems, plus what has been "repaired", can be forthcoming.
Thank you
