My Amazon had non-progressive lowering springs and KYB shocks on it when I got it and the ride was awful, especially on NYC roads. I seem to remember it was specifically NOT recommended that one use KYBs with lowering springs, so the first thing I did was put a set of Bils all around, which was a definite improvement, though the ride was still a little bit harsh. Next I put progressive springs on the front (at the time Skandix wasn't selling the full front/rear progressive and you could only get front progressives from V-Perf.). Another improvement. Eventually I put a pair of progressives on the rear too. I'm often driving on pretty crappy roads, and I still find the ride a little bit harsh (maybe the poly bushings all around are part of that too). Someone on the boards here said Konis on the rear and Bils on the front is a perfect combination. It may be harsh, but the car handles quite well. I'm curious as to how the ride/handling would be with Bils and stock height springs. I kind of wish I had some stock springs to put on and try. Yeah, the lowered look is the 'preferred' look, but ride counts too! I'd try putting Bils on with the stock springs first and see how it goes.

When I got the Bilsteins for mine I don't remember there being a choice.
