How to resurrect a 142E? 140-160 1971

In addition to what Chris said: if you don't hear the fuel pump, check the fuse in the brown fuse box, forward on the driver's side front inner fender. Also clean the connectors there. It's a notorious trouble spot. The seats on mine were leather (now Recaros from a BMW), which I think was standard. This was Volvo's top of the line car - despite the silly plastic trim and the flimsy grill - and, yes, they are rare and well-worth preserving. They may not have the character of the 122, but it's a much better designed car and a better handler. I bought mine in pretty bad shape as a "winter beater", but the more I drive it, the more I like it, and its look are really growing on me.
