Soaking overnight in petrol combined with a bit of mechanical push-pull on the needle tips has loosened up the injectors. I won't get to it tonight but tomorrow night I will slap them back in and give it a whirl.

I'll leave the pickup tube in the jerry can till I get it started. If I can get it running, I'll then look at the filter in the tank.
