Wow! Fooled me! I didn't realize that they worked only on certain cylinders
when you worked the throttle switch depending on the engine position!
I usually just listened for them and went on.
But that reminds me - if you get to a place where only two of them work with
the engine turning, first thing to check is the points in the bottom of the
distributor. If you are doing it with a meter in the connector with the wire
from the coil to the distributor unhooked, WATCH where you put your elbow!
That coil can give you quite a jar! (voice of experience) Check each outboard
terminal against the center for continuity. Both should go of and on repeatedly. I had one of those sets look perfect but the plastic block the
cam pushes was worn or broken and installed only one set opened.
